why choose SOLAR?

better for the planet

Completely inexhaustible and renewable, solar energy reduces your carbon footprint, doesn’t use fossil fuels and works towards a more sustainable future for generations to come. Solar panels can help reduce your CO2 emissions by 1.5 tonnes a year - based on a standard residential install and usage profile.

add value to your home

If you’re looking to sell your home, having solar panels can add value to your home. Many new buyers are conscious about the environment and are looking for greener energy options, but also they are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills - especially after such a big outgoing as buying a house. Solar panels can provide both of these.

more independence

By harnessing the power of the sun you won’t be reliant on the utility grid or the increasing prices of the power companies. Solar energy can still be harnessed during cloudy weather but to ensure that there is enough energy during high peak times and during the winter, solar batteries can be used to store the power generated during sunnier days.

smaller power bills

After the initial investment your solar panels will work for you to convert free sunlight into usable energy to power your electrical devices. This means that you will start to make major savings on your bills.

Based on a standard residential install and usage profile you could look to save the following each month:

return on investment

Here you can see the initial investment followed by the return on your investment with accumulated savings over the lifetime of the system.

As shown, in time your solar panel installation will pay for itself and, over the years, it will provide a return on investment.

how it WORKS

There are three typical systems to power up your home with solar: grid-tied, a hybrid system or completely off-grid.

a grid-tied system

The simplest and most cost-effective option for starting your home's solar power journey is with a grid-tied system. This means that while the sun's out, your solar panels are powering up your household appliances but should the weather turn, you have the reassurance of being able to draw from the usual power grid.

hybrid systems

Hybrid systems are still connected to the power grid, but also use batteries to store any unused power generated by the solar panels. This can be used to power your household whenever the solar panels aren't actively generating power (such as at nighttime, or during a patch of rough weather). And when the batteries are empty? You can draw on power from the grid at your power company's usual rate.

off-grid

As the name suggests, these systems have no connection to the utility grid - and that means no more power bills. Excess power from sunny days is stored in batteries to use at night and in low-sun months, and you can choose how to prioritise where this power goes first - like keeping the lights on and the fridge cold!
